Blog #4

Hello,  From my personal perspective, I believe there shouldn't be a new border wall between Mexico and the United States. It would get Mexicans calmed and feel safe since at least they wouldn't feel more neglected than they already are. American's hate the most on Hispanics and stereotype us with Mexicans since they are the majority of Hispanic immigrants. Drug smuggling and illegal immigration are huge issues within migration, and how people overall look at all the immigrants. Solutions to both of those topics logically would be higher security and better laws requirements towards immigration. Targeting Hispanics towards this kind of stuff would only cause social chaos and discrimination from the U.S. since most of the time it's also the own system that it's corrupted and discriminating towards minorities. America always considered immigrants as a threat to their culture. A great solution for these kinds of situations would be the actual acceptance of middle-c...

Trail of Tears

Hello, According to the video the trail of tears, which speaks about the Cherokee people during 1828, who also lived prosperous and product lives. yet they were about to get invaded by  Georgia since they considered them as a threat. President Andrew Jackson as president of the United States regarding the Cherokees said "established in the midst of a superior race, they must disappear." They started to oppress the Cherokee people and taking away their rights from within the borders of the United States. They started to invade them since they started to find gold in their territory. The congress agreed, the bill which called for the removal of all five southern tribes. they were forced by the government to leave their land, and in the process trying to set up life in a strange land, a lot of them died. I feel like this was unfair beyond what are human values, by committing passive genocide and not taking accountability about it right away, yet taken a huge gap in history to s...

Hello,  I'm going to explain and elaborate on how Asians, and Hispanic Immigration work to the present day in the United States. According to the article Asian Immigrants in the United States in 2014 by Jie Zong and Jeanne Batalova  "As of 2014, the top five origin countries of Asian immigrants were India, China, Philippines, Vietnam, and Korea. The immigration motivation has greatly varied over time and by country of origin, ranging from employment and family reunification to educational or investment opportunities and humanitarian protection". Blog Journy Entry #1

The Beginning - Journal Entry #1   Good Evening, my name is Pedro Jimenez. I'm 18 years old, I’m from a Hispanic household, my first language is Spanish, I was born in Ecuador and lived there the most of my life with my mother and my sisters. I am an artist and I enjoy painting/sketching people mostly; it has been my passion since an early age, I sketch multiple things but I try to focus on human anatomy, I always try to catch anyone’s essence while I draw them. I love playing videogames which sometimes I get competitive with my friends, yet we all end up having fun and enjoy the time we have together. I also love drinking coffee at any time and trying new foods all the time. I always try to have a good time with the people I care about and making sure everyone is having fun and being comfortable with each other. I live with my parents, and I have two sisters, yet I only live with one of them. What defines my identity I'd say the way I express myself throug...
